The Cola®Teric CDB is a liquid material comprising 30% w/w active surfactant with about 6% w/w associated salt and 64% w/w water. The solution was measured “as is” for a single determination

Description of key information

The flash point for Cetyl Betaine; CAS# 693-33-4 was attempted using the Pensky–Martens closed-cup (PMCC) method. The substance shows no distinct flash up to 75°C, and therefore is nonflammable. Above 75°C moisture from the product extinguishes the flame.

This end point has been waived on the grounds that the substance is a solid even though it is normally supplied as an aqueous liquid. As an aqueous liquid, there is no possiblity of a flash under the conditions of the stanndard test.
