Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Principles of method if other than guideline:
Peer reviewed handbook data or other company data do not explicitly state a method, but they normally follow scientifically valid procedures and only such values are selected for inclusion in the handbooks. Only one value presented in the current endpoint was assessed by using the ASTM D56 (Tag Closed Cup Method) without any additional information.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
According the information collected for the flash point of 1,6-Dibromohexane, the value of 110°C is retained. In fact, data from safety datasheet indicated values > 110°C and were obtained by using the preferred methology which was the closed cup method as indicated in the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment - Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance, ECHA, 2008, p117. Moreover, the substance is, from industrial experience, not flammable which could support the flash point value retained.
