Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling Point)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Preparation of the Glass Tube
A small amount of the test item was filled in a capillary glass tube with a diameter of 3.2 mm to obtain a filling level of approximately 10 mm. The tube was heated in the oven of the device.

Preliminary Test
Preliminary test was performed at 10 °C/min heating rate from 70 to 400 °C.
The test item started discolour to brown, but did not boil.

Main Test
According to the preliminary test no boiling point was observed, therefore the samples in a glass tube were heated from 385 °C with a rate of 0.5 °C/min.
The atmospheric pressure was registered.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
other: Capillary method

Any other information on results incl. tables

The test was carried out at 97.1 kPa atmospheric pressure.

Some bubbles were formed, but the test item did not boil and discoloured to brown and later to black.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Executive summary:

The boiling point test was performed according to the OECD 103 guideline.

No boiling point was observed but decomposition was observed up to 400 °C.
