The determination of the test substance was aborted before starting the experimental phase because the test substance did not dissolve in water.

In relation to the water solubility 1.8 mg of the pestled test substance should be dissolved in 500 ml distilled water, conditioned for 10 min in an ultrasonic bath and tempered at 20 °C. The test substance was not dissolved in water, so the mixture was heated to ca. 90 °C for two hours and after that it was tempered at 20 °C again. At a temperature of ca. 90 °C the solution was transparent, but after tempering a white residue precipitated.

Due to this fact the surface tension of the solution with the test substancr which is not totally dissolved in water would be nearly similar to the surface tension of pure distilled water.

Conclusions:
Under the study conditions, the test substance precipitated due to this fact the surface tension of the solution with the test substance which is not totally dissolved in water would be nearly similar to the surface tension of pure distilled water. This is in accordance with the test Method A.5 and OECD Guideline 115.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the surface tension of the test substance using ring method according to OECD Guideline 115 and EU Method A.5.
