Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The biodegradability of Acetoguanamine was determined by the method laid down in the OECD Guideline 301E: "Ready Biodegradability: Modified OECD Screening Test".

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

Acetoguanamine was tested in two concentrations: 26 mg/l and 56 mg/l. A control test with sodium acetate showed that the activity of the inoculum was sufficient and that there was no inhibition of the inoculum activity of Acetoguanamine. Furthermore a test of the biodegradation of 26 mg/l Acetoguanamine and 100 mg/l sodium acetate in the nitrogen-limited medium showed, that the degradation of the test substance was not increased in the absence of nitrogen.

No biodegradability (no DOC removal in 48 days) was found in the test bottles with Acetoguanamine. Because of this Acetoguanamine is not regarded as readily biodegradable.
