Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Surface tension (hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane): Not relevant

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance hydrolyses rapidly in contact with water (half-life = 23 min at pH 7 and 25°C). Therefore, the surface tension study is considered technically unfeasible and is also of very limited relevance. The hydrolysis products, L3-diol and dimethylsilanediol, are not expected to be surface active on the basis of chemical structure.
