Sublethal observations / clinical signs:

The results (LC0, LC50 and LC100, respectively) for 2 -methylfuran obtained in the two laboratories are very different:

Effect concentration (48h) Lab 1 Lab 2 Average
LC50 237 626 431.5
LC0 200 458 329
LC100 273 733 503

The average of both laboratories is reported in the Results section.

Conclusions:
The LC50 (48h) values determined in the 2 different laboratories are: 237 and 626 mg/L.
Executive summary:

The short-term toxicity of 2 -methylfuran to fish was assessed according to the German guideline "Deutsche Einheitsverfahren zur  Wasser-, Abwasser- und Schlamm-Untersuchung, L15: Fischtest (Bestimmung  der Wirkung von Wasserinhaltstoffen auf Fische, Vorabdruch in Vom Wasser  46, 291-295 (1976). Fish were exposed for 48h.

The experiment was conducted in 2 different laboratories and both results are reported. The LC50 values (48h) were 237 and 626 mg/L respectively. The LC0 concentrations were 200 and 458 mg/L and the LC100 values reported are 273 and 733 mg/L.
