Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The densitiy of norbornene as a mean value of two measurements at 20.0 +/-0.5°C was determined as 0,8706 +/- 0.0023 g/cm³.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
0.871

Additional information

the density was determined with the pycnometer method (OECD 109). At 20,0 +/-0,5°C a value of 0,8706 g/cm³ was determined as average of 2 measurements with a standard deviation of 0,0023 g/cm³ and an error of determination of 0,0001 for each measurement value.

in a second study the relative density of molten norbornene at temperatures ranging from 50°C (0.8449) to 90°C (0.8126) was measured.
