Additional information

The auto-ignition temperature of the test substance was determined according to guideline DIN 51794. At a temperature of 290

°C no ignition was observed. The lowest temperature giving a positive effect was 300°C (injection volume 100µL, ignition delay 9seconds). Therefore, the auto-ignition temperature of the test substance was found to be 300 ± 10 °C. The +/- 10 °C refers to the reproducibility of the method as specified by the guideline. According to the guidelines the lowest temperature giving a positive effect should be rounded down to the nearest multiple of 5 °C. However, since more temperatures in the range 290°C to 300°C were not tested a conservative value of 290°C has been chosen for the purposes of the CSA even though no ignition was observed at 430°C.
