Description of key information

Docusate Calcium is not highly flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

In the Klimisch 1 key study from Holzschuh (2010) the flammability of Docusate Sodium was determined according to EC A.10 “Determination of the Flammability (Solids)". The combustion speed was > 240 s for 200 mm. Therefore, Docusate Sodium is considered to be not highly flammable.

In the absence of experimental data for calcium docusate, the flammability result for sodium docusate is applied as read-across.

The results of this test are considered to be relevant and reliable for the risk assessment.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Docusate calcium is not highly flammable. Therefore, classification is not needed.
