Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the experience in production or handling shows that the substance does not react with water, e.g. the substance is manufactured with water or washed with water
Endpoint:
flammable liquids: obsolete as covered by section 'Flash point'
Data waiving:

Description of key information

The flammability of liquids is determined on basis of their flashpoint (in combination with their boiling point), their ability to emit flammable gases upon contact with water and their pyrophoricity. The flash point being lower than 60°C but higher than 23°C (CLP Regulations), this substance is considered as flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
flammable

Additional information

Considering the chemical structure and the experience in handling and use, pyrophoric properties and flammability on contact with water can be ruled out for this substance.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The measured flash point is >23°C and <60°C (cf section 4.11).
