Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The flash point of the test item was determined to be ≤ 25.0°C at 101.3 kPa.
Executive summary:

A study was performed to determine the flash point of the test item REACTION MASS OF BICYCLO 2.2.1-HEPTA-2.5-DIENE-BCHD.

The flash point of the test item is determined with a closed cup tester, by an equilibrium method called “Small Scale” (commonly known as Setaflash).
The substance is placed into a test cup and heated using a temperature gradient program. Ignition trials are carried out in order to ascertain whether or not the sample flashes at the temperature tested.

A pre-test was conducted and measurements were stopped as the test item ignited when the ignitor dipped into the test cup even if no flash was detected by the apparatus.
As the apparatus cannot perform measurements at temperatures lower than the ambient temperature, the flash point is considered to be less or equal to the apparatus temperature at the beginning of the test (25°C).
The flash point of the reference substances Butanol-1 and CRM respects the checking cards limits.
