Conclusion on classification

It should be noted that the key studies were performed with chlorendic anhydride containing hexane as a minot impurity. Due to a subsequent change in manufacturing procedure, the substance contains chlorobenzene instead. As required by the CoRAP substance evaluation of 2015, the short-term toxicity to fish and invertebrates studies were repeated using chlorendic anhydride containing chlorobenzene. Neither study showed an increase in toxicity, so the original studies were regarded as still aposite and have been used to calculate the PNEC for the substance and subsequently the environmental classification of the substance.

Under the GHS, the Algal Inhibition Test with a result of EC50 >97.2 mg/l, Chlorendic anhydride is classified as Aquatic Chronic 3, H413: May cause long lasting harmful effects to aquatic life.
