Executive summary:

The boiling point of the test item was assessed according to OECD 103, using the capillary method of Siwoloboff. In a preliminary experiment a boiling point of 249°C was determined (heating rate 10°C/min). In the main test, 3 replicate measurements were performed and the test material was heated at a lower heating rate of 0.5°C/min. The average boiling temperature at 99.98 kPa was found to be 249.0. The boiling point was corrected for atmospheric pressure (101.325 kPa): 250.0 °C.

Description of key information

For this endpoint, 1 study is available in which the boiling point was determined experimentally according to OECD 103, capillary method of Siwoloboff. The test item was found to boil at a temperature 250.0°C, corrected to atmospheric pressure (101,325 Pa). Additionally, a boiling point was reported in the CRC Handbook (1993): 244°C.
