Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

General advice       No hazards which require special first aid measures.

Skin contact       Wash off with soap and water.

Eye contact       Rinse with plenty of water.

Ingestion       Consult a physician if necessary. Rinse mouth.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media       Water, Foam, Dry powder, Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Further information       Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

Accidental release measures

Environmental precautions       Avoid subsoil penetration. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

Methods for cleaning up       Use mechanical handling equipment. Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust).

Handling and storage

HANDLING

Safe handling advice       No special technical protective measures required.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion       Normal measures for preventive fire protection.

STORAGE

Requirements for storage areas and containers       No special storage conditions required.

Storage classification (VCI system/Germany):       10; Combustible liquids not in Storage Class 3

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection       No personal respiratory protective equipment normally required. In inadequately ventilated areas, where workplace limits are exceeded, where unpleasant odours exist or where aerosols are in use, or smoke and mist occur, use self-contained breathing apparatus or breathing apparatus with a type A filter or appropriate combined filter (e.g. where aerosols are in use, or smoke and mist occur, A-P2 or ABEK-P2), in compliance with EN 141.

Hand protection:

If protective gloves are used, the glove material must be resistant to the substance.

Check the tightness before wear. Gloves should be well cleaned before being removed, then stored in a well ventilated location. Pay attention to skin care.

Textile or leather gloves are completely unsuitable.

The following materials are suitable for protective gloves (Permeation time >= 8 hours):

Nitrile rubber/Nitrile latex - NBR (0,35 mm)

Following materials are unsuitable for protective gloves:

Natural rubber/Natural latex - NR

Polychloroprene - CR

Butyl rubber - Butyl

Fluoro carbon rubber - FKM

Polyvinyl chloride - PVC

The times listed are suggested by measurements taken at

22 degree C and constant contact. Temperatures raised

by warmed substances, body heat, etc. and a weakening of

the effective layer thickness caused by expansion can lead

to a significantly shorter breakthrough time.

In case of doubt contact the gloves' manufacturer.

A 1.5-times increase / decrease in the layer thickness

doubles / halves the breakthrough time. This data only

applies to the pure substance. Transferred to mixtures of

substances, these figures should only be taken as an aid

to orientation.

Stability and reactivity

Thermal decomposition       No decomposition if used as directed.

Hazardous reactions       None known.

Disposal considerations

Non-hazardous waste according to Waste Catalogue Ordinance (AVV).

If there is no way of recycling it must be disposed of in compliance with the respective national and local regulations.

Collection of small amounts of substance:

Place in a collection container for halogen-free organic solvents and solutions of halogen-free organic substances.
