Description of key information

Due to its physical-chemcial properties, methylal is not expected to adsorb in the soil compartments.

Informations on Toxicity to soil microorganisms are the same as those available for "6.1.7 Toxicity to microorganisms" in Aquatic toxicity. In these experiments, methylal showed a low toxicity to Pseudomonas putida (EC10 and EC50 >10 g/L), Pseudomonas fluorescens (EC of 100-120 g/L), Bacillus cereus (EC of 40-50 g/L), Enterobacter cloacae (EC of 40-50 g/L), Saccharomyces cerevisae (EC of 40-50 g/L) and protozoa (EC of 20-30 g/L).
