Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

General information - When in doubt or if symptoms are observed, get medical advice. Never give anything by mouth to an unconsciousperson or a person with cramps.

In case of skin contact - Remove contaminated, saturated clothing immediately. After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. Do not wash with: Solvents/Thinner

After eye contact - In case of contact with eyes flush immediately with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart and consult an ophthalmologist. Protect uninjured eye.

After ingestion - If accidentally swallowed rinse the mouth with plenty of water (only if the person is conscious) and obtain immediate medical attention. Do NOT induce vomiting. Keep at rest.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media - alcohol resistant foam, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Extinguishing powder

Unsuitable extinguishing media - water

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture - In case of fire toxic gases may be formed. In flames as well as on hot surfaces toxic and decomposition products with penetrating smell may be formed. Carbon monoxide. Carbon dioxide (CO2) Sulphur oxides.

Advice for firefighters - In case of fire: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Additional information- Cool endangered containers with water in case of fire. Do not allow run-off from fire-fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures - Provide adequate ventilation. Wear breathing apparatus if exposed to vapours/dusts/aerosols.

Environmental precautions - Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Do not allow to enter into soil/subsoil. In case of gas escape or of entry into waterways, soil or drains, inform the responsible authorities.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up - Absorb with liquid-binding material (e.g. sand, diatomaceous earth, acid- or universal binding agents). Collect in closed and suitable containers for disposal. Clean contaminated articles and floor according to the environmental legislation. Ventilate affected area.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling - If handled uncovered, arrangements with local exhaust ventilation should be used if possible. Normal precautions taken when handling chemicals should be observed. Wear breathing apparatus if exposed to vapours/dusts/aerosols. Provide working site with eye and safety showers. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not eat or drink during work - no smoking. Comply with the health and safety at work laws.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities - Keep container tightly closed and in a well-ventilated place. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Containers should be kept dry and sealed. Protect against moisture and water.

Hints on joint storage

Storage class (TRGS 510) : 6.1A

Do not store together with - Strong oxidizing agents, acids, bases, water, amines. alcohols.

Further information on storage conditions - Always keep in containers of same material as the original one. See also instructions on the label. Avoid heating and direct sunlight.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Eye/face protection - Eye glasses with side protection

Skin protection

Hand protection - The quality of the protective gloves resistant to chemicals must be chosen as a function of the specific working place concentration and quantity of hazardous substances. Avoid contact with the skin and mouth. After washing hands

replace lost skin fat by fat containing skin creams.

Body protection - Use appropriate skin protection cream before work. Chemical resistant safety clothing.

Respiratory protection - If technical exhaust or ventilation measures are not possible or insufficient, respiratory protection must be worn. Selfcontained respirator (breathing apparatus) (DIN EN 133)

General health and safety measures - The usual precautionary measures for the handling of chemicals have to be observed. Do not eat or drink during work - no smoking. Wash hands and face before breaks and after work and take a shower if necessary.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability - The substance is chemically stable under recommended conditions of storage, use and temperature.

Possibility of hazardous reactions - Strong oxidizing agents, acids, bases, water, amines. alcohols. chlorates

Conditions to avoid - Stable under recommended storage and handling conditions. Do not store at temperatures above 40 °C. Protect against moisture and water.

Incompatible materials - Strong oxidizing agents, acids, bases, water, amines. alcohols.

Hazardous decomposition products - Thermal decomposition can lead to the escape of irritating gases and vapours. Carbon monoxide. Carbon dioxide. Sulphur oxides

Disposal considerations

Do not empty into waters or drains. Dispose according to legislation.

Product/Packaging disposal - Contaminated packages must be completely emptied and can be re-used following proper cleaning. Handle contaminated packages in the same way as the substance itself.
