Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In the key study (Atwal, 2012), the flash point of the test material was determined in accordance with GLP and the standardised guideline EU Method A.9. Under the conditions of the test, the flash point of the test material was determined to be 137 ± 2ºC. The flash point, corrected for atmospheric pressure was determined to be 137.167ºC at 101.3 kPa. This study was performed to a good standard with a sufficient level of detail to assess the reliability of the data submitted. Accordingly the study was assigned a reliability score of 1, in line with the principles for assessing data quality set out in Klimisch (1997).

Supporting information is available in the form of a material safety data sheet and information taken from the Chemical Book and Good Scents Company websites. These sources report the flash point of the test material to be above 113ºC, 110ºC and 100ºC, respectively. Flash point data were taken from abstracts of company data, where there was no reporting of the methodologies used. Accordingly they have been assigned a reliability score of 4 as set out by Klimisch (1997).
