Log Pow values calculated by Q(SAR), i.e. Epi Suite SRC KOWWIN v1.68, and regression analysis, were 4.09 and 3.67 (Fujisawa & Masuhara, 1981), respectively.
An experimental log Pow of 4.64 (25 °C) was determined using the shake-flask method, but may represent an overestimation of the actual log Pow due to methological deficiencies. The EU RAR (2005) also stated that “the logPow of 4.6 is assumed to be a runaway”.
Using a weight of evidence approach, a log Pow value of 4 was retained because it lies between the two QSAR values, and is consistent with the value used in the EU RAR for exposure assessment (3.9).
