First-aid measures

General information: Remove contaminated, soaked clothing immediately and dispose of safely.

After inhalation: Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm. Take medical treatment.

After contact with skin: In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with soap and water

After contact with eyes: In case of contact with eyes rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical advice

After ingestion: Allow the patient to vomit of his own accord only if fully conscious. Summon a doctor immediately.

Notes to Physician

Symptoms: Cyanosis.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Foam, water spray jet, Dry powder, Carbon dioxide.

Special hazards from the substance itself, its combustion products or from its vapours: In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed:

Carbonmonoxide (CO). Carbon dioxide (CO2). Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

Special protective equipment for fire-fighting: Use self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information: Fire residues and contaminated fire-fighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Use personal protective clothing. Ensure adequate ventilation. If ventilation insufficient, use a respiratory protection apparatus.

Prevent unauthorized access. Keep away sources of ignition.

Environmental precautions: Do not allow to enter drains or waterways.

Methods for cleaning up/taking up: Dilute with water and then pick up with absorbent material (e.g. sand, kieselguhr, universal binder) (Danger of self-ignition without dilution). The product is spontaneously combustible by contact with material which has a larger surface e.g. clothes, sacks, sand etc.

Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly with water and detergents, observing environmental regulations. When picked up, treat material as prescribed under heading "Disposal".

Additional information: Evacuation of area and intervention of special services recommended.

Handling and storage

Handling

Advice on safe handling (industrial scale): Ensure adequate ventilation. Keep limited supplies at workplace. Avoid spilling, spraying or splashing.

Use solvent-resistant equipment. Use only totally enclosed apparatus When working with open containers, adequate suctioning off of the vapours

is necessary. The product is spontaneously combustible by contact with material which has a larger surface e.g. clothes, sacks, sand etc.

Keep away from sources of ignition --- No smoking.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Take precautionary measures against electrostatic loading - earthing necessary during loading operations. The product is combustible. Forms explosive gas mixtures in combination with air. Vapours are heavier than air and may spread

along floors.

Temperature class: T 3

Storage

Requirements for storage rooms and vessels: Provide floor trough without outlets. Provide retaining basin.

Further information on storage conditions: Keep under lock and key or accessible only to specialists or people who are authorized. Keep container

tightly closed. Protect from light. Protect from exposure to air/oxygen. Keep only in the original container at temperature not exceeding 40°C.

Keep under nitrogen.
