Specific details on test material used for the study:
Batch number: 83100001
Purity: 91.1%
Physical state/appearance: Clear colourless liquid
Expiry date: 11 May 2018
Storage conditions: Room temperature (nominally 15 to 25°C), dark
Key result
Water solubility:
9.1 mg/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
> 6.8 - < 6.9
Details on results:
The detector calibration was found to be linear over the range 0 to 20 mg/L with a regression coefficient of 1.0000. There was a measured solubility of 9.1 ± 1.2 mg/L. An acceptable mean recovery of approximately 95% of alpha-terpinene from fortified samples was achieved.

Table 1. Summary of results.

Sample Number

Time (hours) Concentration (mg/L)

Mean Concentration (mg/L)

pH
2A, 2B 2 8.38, 7.79 8.08 6.9, 6.8
4A, 4B 4 10.51, 8.55 9.53 6.9, 6.9
6A, 6B 6 8.86, 10.77 9.82 6.9, 6.8
Conclusions:
The water solubility of alpha-Terpinene was determined to be 9.1 mg/L at 20°C.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of alpha-terpinene was determined using HPLC and OECD TG 105. An acceptable mean recovery of approximately 95% of alpha-terpinene from fortified samples was achieved. The water solubility of alpha-Terpinene was determined to be 9.1 mg/L at 20°C.
