Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Effects on developmental toxicity

Description of key information
Increased pre- and postimplantation losses were observed, but the exposure was maternally toxic (Krotov and Chebotar, 1972).
Effect on developmental toxicity: via oral route
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Effect on developmental toxicity: via inhalation route
Endpoint conclusion:
adverse effect observed
Dose descriptor:
LOAEC
150 mg/m³
Study duration:
subacute
Species:
rat
Quality of whole database:
Embryotoxic effects at maternal toxic concentrations
Effect on developmental toxicity: via dermal route
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Additional information

Embryotoxic effects were oberved only at an exposure concentration, which produced maternal toxicity. Therefore they are considered to be secondary effects to maternal toxicity. The exposure did not produce other developmental effects including teratogenicity. The study is considered to be reliable with respect to effects on offspring. No classification is required as developmental toxicant.

Justification for selection of Effect on developmental toxicity: via inhalation route:
Reliable study with adequate exposure

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the available information, no classification is required according to CLP (Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008) and DSD-DPD (Council Directive 67/548/EEC).
