Administrative data

Endpoint:
partition coefficient
Type of information:
(Q)SAR
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Justification for type of information:
The substance is moderately soluble in water but it's application is in the rubber industry. It is used as an accelerator to assist vulcanisation where water is not present as it would inhibit the cross linking process. There is no possibility of water being generated during the use of the betaine so there is no likelihood of any aqueous waste generation during its production and its downstream use. This means that the partiition coefficient is not significant for the betaine at any stage of its production and downstream use.
