Description of key information

Carcinogenicity of 4-Chlorobenzenesulfonic acid was estimated by using the following predictors: VEGA (three models) and Derek Nexus. The predictors were employed in order to apply a weight of evidence (WoE) approach to enhance the reliability of the prediction. In the weight of evidence assessment only reliable predictions are to be taken into account. Vega/CAESAR predicted the target compound as non carcinogen, Vega/IRFMN/Antares and Vega IRFMN/ISSCAN-CGX predicted the target compound as possible non carcinogen but all the results had a low reliability. Derek Nexus identified no alerts for the target compound. Thus, it was concluded that 4-Chlorobenzenesulfonic acid was predicted as negative for carcinogenicity but theprediction was assessed as low reliable.
