Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance does not contain metals or metalloids and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
In a statement (in study report 518012) it was concluded that the substance is ‘not highly flammable’ in contact with water.

Endpoint:
pyrophoric solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:

Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
In a statement (in study report 518012) it was concluded that the substance has no pyrophoric properties.

Description of key information

Based on the measured flash point of 193°C the substance is not expected to be a flammable substance.

Based on structural features, it was concluded in expert statements that the substance has no pyrophoric properties and that the substance is not highly flammable in contact with water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification or non-classification according to CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008:

Based on the measured flash point of 193°C the substance is not expected to be a flammable substance.

Not a pyrophoric solid (the substance lacks functional groups that would imply this hazard).

No classification for the hazard "Substances which in contact with water emits flammable gases' (the substance lacks functional groups that would imply this hazard).

Since the melting temperature of the substance is below 160°C and due to its high auto-ignition temperature, the substance need not be considered for CLP classification in the 'Self-heating substances' class.
