Description of key information
There are no data specific to the carcinogenic potential of tetraethyl orthosilicate. However, the in vitro genotoxic data are negative and there were no signs of hyperplasia in repeated dose toxicity studies.

Justification for classification or non-classification
Based on the available data (negative in vitro genetic toxicity, lack of hyperplasia in the repeated dose studies), tetraethyl orthosilicate does not require classification for carcinogenicity according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
