Study period:
May 15, 2017 - May 16, 2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Specific details on test material used for the study:
STABILITY AND STORAGE CONDITIONS OF TEST MATERIAL
- Storage condition of test material: room temperature
- Stability under test conditions: yes
Key result
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions

The thermal change. a peak is between 200 ºC and 300 ºC. The peak height does not exceed a criteria value (400 ºC), which suggests the self-ignition phenomena of test item is not occurred.

Conclusions:
The test item does not have a relative self-ignition temperature in accordance with method A.16 criteria.
Executive summary:

The determination of the self-ignition temperature of the test item was performed according to EU method A.16, following GLP. A cube of stainless steel wire mesh was filled with the test item, suspected in the centre of the laboratory oven and heated at a constant rate of 0.5 ºC/min until reaching 400 ºC. One thermocouple was placed at the centre of the cube and the other between the cube and the oven wall to record the oven temperature. The test item does not have a relative self-ignition temperature according to method A.16 criteria.

Description of key information

Key study: EU A.16. GLP study. The test item does not have the relative self-ignition temperature.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
