Description of key information

The acute freshwater aquatic toxicity in several species was determined.
The 96 hr LC50 for glycerol in Salmo gairdneri is 54,000 mg/L with 95% Confidence Interval of 51,000 -57,000 mg/L. The 96-hour No Adverse Effect Level of Polyol 80 (contained 86% glycerol) to fathead minnows was 320 mg/l and 100 percent mortality was observed at 1800 mg/l and the LC50 was 885 (697 to 1130) mg/l.
The acute saltwater aquatic toxicity in one species was determined. The 96 hr LC50 value with Cyprinodon variegatus was >11,000 ug/L.

These values are above the limit dose of 100 mg/L.
