According to the EPIWIN degradation model, dipropylene glycol methyl ether will be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes. Half-lives based on reaction with hydroxyl radicals range from 5.2 to 7.6 h, averaging 6.5 h.

No hydrolysis rate constant is available for dipropylene glycol methyl ether, as according to REACH Annex VIII, hydrolysis testing is not needed for substances that are readily biodegradable, thus undergo ultimate degradation.
