Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Biodegradation in water:
not biodegradable
Type of water:
freshwater

Additional information

In a GLP guideline study according to OECD 301B a biodegradation of <10 % was observed (BASF 2014). This result is supported by a GLP guideline study according to OECD 301F where a biodegradation of 1.2 % was observed (RCC 1999). Hence, the substance is poorly biodegradable. The poor biodegradability of the test substance is also confirmed by a japanese GLP guideline study in which no biodegradation was observable (Gakushuin 2000).

Additional information is given from a Zahn Wellens test (OECD 302B). After 3 hours 73 % of DOC removal was measured indicating adsorption potential of the substance. It is thus easily eliminable from water (Solvias 2000).

Based on the results of the performed simulation test, overruling the results of the performed screening tests, it is considered appropriate to conclude not biodegradable as key value, to use as input parameter for the environmental assessment (e.g. for assessing the distribution of the substance in a STP).
