Additional information

An assessment of dermal irritation in the rabbit following 24 hours exposure according to FHSA test methods resulted in only slight erythema.

Slight conjuctival irritation was observed following instillation into the conjunctival sac of the eye. Recovery occurred within 48 hours.

Effects on skin irritation/corrosion: slightly irritating

Effects on eye irritation: slightly irritating

Justification for classification or non-classification

Dermal irritation - Slight erythema occurred following 24 hours exposure. Regarded as a an unequivocal negative response. EU/OECD methods employ a 4 hour exposure period which is expected to result in similar or reduced reaction compared with that described from this 24 hour test.

Eye irritation - Minor conjunctival reaction observed following instillation into the eye, recovery occurring within 48 hours.

For both skin and eye irritation, the severity and persistance of reactions observed are insufficient for the substance to require classification.
