Description of key information

The partition coefficient n-octanol/water (Log Kow) of C4 acrylate was determined to be 4.19 at 22 °C using EPA OPPTS 830.7550 (Partition Coefficient, n-octanol / H2O, Shake Flask Method) and OECD 107 “Partition Coefficient (n-Octanol/water): Shake Flask Method”.

The partition coefficient n-octanol/water of C4 acrylate was measured based on U.S EPA guidance document OPPTS 830.7550 “Partition Coefficient (n-Octanol/Water), Shake Flask Method” and OECD 107 “Partition Coefficient (n-Octanol/water): Shake Flask Method”, and was conducted under GLP. C4 acrylate was shaken in octanol/water mixture ratios of 1:1, 1:2 and 2:1 at 22 °C for approximately 6 days. The aqueous and n-octanol phases were separated by centrifuging and transferred to individual vials. C4 acrylate in octanol phase and aqueous phase were analyzed separately using LC/MS/MS. The log Kow of C4 Acrylate was determined to be 4.19 at 22.2 (±1.0)°C and at a pH of 6.8 (±0.3).
