Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification
Ecotoxicity Labelling for Resin Oils and Cyclic Dienes Category
Experimental and QSAR data are available for several streams in the category. Data on the acute aquatic toxicity of 4 members of this category have been read across to the other category members. The studies were conducted to standard guidelines and according to GLP and so are considered reliable for use as key studies. We have used the results reported as WAF, which better represent the potential toxicity of the UVCB test substance itself. Similar sensitivities were shown in all three trophic levels. WAF data can be used for comparison with the criteria for environmental classification under the CLP Regulations. However, its use must be considered carefully. PETROTOX QSAR data was also considered for CLP, when no experimental data for a stream was available.
It is considered that based on the available experimental and PETROTOX QSAR data most streams in this category should have the classification of Chronic Category 2 (H411) under the CLP regulations. However, one stream should have a classification of Chronic Category 1 (H410) under the CLP regulations for having a predictedP. subcapitataErL10 below 0.1 mg/L. A total of three should also have a classification of Acute Category 1 (H400) under the CLP regulations, one of them for having acute experimental data from 2004 with EL50 forCeriodaphnia dubiaand LL50 forOncorhynchus mykissbelow 1 mg/L, and two of them for having a predicted Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata ErL50 value below 1 mg/L.
Conclusion
Based on the fraction of constituents in the tested sample and the available experimental and QSAR ecotoxicity data, streams in this category should have the classification of a) Chronic Category 2 (H411), or b) Acute Category 1 (H400) and Chronic Category 1 (H410) or c) Acute Category 1 (H400) and Chronic Category 2 (H411) under the CLP regulations.
