Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX and Annex XI, section 1.1.2 Use of existing data, water and sediment simulation testing does not need to be conducted as FeNa-EDDHA has no high potential for adsorption to sediment based on the calculated Koc of 0.012 (estimated with the Kow method, KOCWIN v2.00). Together with its high water solubility (≥ 15.0 g/100g < 20.3 g/100g) the substance is expected to be very mobile in the aqueous phase and will not adsorb to sediment and soil. In addition, it could be shown in read across studies with Fe-EDDHMA-Na and Fe-EDDHMA-K that the substance is subject to photolytical degradation. In conclusion, is can be expected that FeNaEDDHA will be rapidly degraded photolytically. Therefore, no further water/sediment simulation testing is needed to assess whether the substance is persistent in the environment or not.
