Administrative data
First-aid measures
After inhalation: Remove person to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
After skin contact: Wash with water and soap. When skin irritation occurs: seek medical advice resp. medical attendance.
After eye contact: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.
After ingestion: Rinse mouth and drink plenty of water. Consult a doctor.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing agents:
- Suitable extinguishants: metal fire powder extinguisher, dry sand, dry sodium chloride
- Unsuitable extinguishants: water, CO2
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture In case of fire, product may form:
- Carbon monnoxide
- Carbon dioxide: CO2 (gas) is heavier than air. Asphyxiating at high concentrations.
Advice for firefighters
Special protective measures and equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
- Molybdenum trioxide
Accidental release measures
Personal Precautions:
- Remove all sources of ignition.
- Avoid formation and sedimentation of dust.
- Use personal protective equipment.
Environmental Precautions:
No special environmental precautions required.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Cleaning methods: Pick up mechanically. Avoid dust formation. Fill in labelled and locakble container
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling
- Handling Precautions: Avoid dust formation. Provide adequate ventilation during handling and transfer of substance, if necessary with vapour extraction at the workplace.
- Precautions against fire and explosion: Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and ignition sources. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Dust from the production process may form an explosive dust-air mixture.
- Hygiene measures: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Store work clothes separately.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities :
- Requirements for storage rooms and vessels: No special requirements.
- Further information concerning storage conditions: Store dry in tightly locked containers.
- Indication for Combined Storage: Comply with VCI standards for combined storage.
- Storage category: 11, flammable solids
