Additional information

No adverse effects to fish, daphnia or aquatic plants were observed in acute tests with LC/EC50 > 100 mg/L. MPD is readily biodegradable and toxicity to microorganisms is not expected. The substance has a low log Kow (0.03) so long term exposure to or bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms is not expected. Additionally MPD has a low log Koc (0.1188) and has no potential for adsorption to organic matter (Koc). Secondary poisoning is therefore not considered a relevant route.

Conclusion on classification

MPD is readily biodegradable and has no potential for bioaccumulation and adsorption to organic matter (Koc). According to Annex I of the CLP regulation 1272/2008/EC, no classification is required, as all EC50 are greater than 100 mg/L.
