Additional information

The data submitter has no data, even after literature search on the substance (3R)-3-Amino-1-butanol (S)-mandelic acid salt (CAS 1236049 -43 -6) to properly derive classification and labeling. Nevertheless, in order to address biodegradation endpoint of the test item, reference to the racemic mixture of 3 -Amino-butan-1 -ol (CAS 2867 -59 -6) and to (R)-mandelic acid (CAS 611 -71 -2) was made for read-across purposes. The investigation of biodegradability of 3 -Amino-butan-1 -ol (CAS 2867 -59 -6) by a closed bottle test (OECD 301D) reveals a degradation of 60 - 70% (BASF SE 2014, 22G0406/13G069), but the required pass level for ready biodegradability within a ten days window was not reached. The investigation of biodegradability of (R)-mandelic acid (CAS 611 -71 -2) by a DOC DIE-away test (OECD 301A) reveals a degradation of 90 -100% (BASF AG 2002, 02/0061/21/1).

Thus, the substance (3R)-3 -Amino-1 -butanol (S)-mandelic acid salt (CAS 1236049 -43 -6) is considered as not readily biodegradable.
