Description of key information
2,2 -Bismethylthiopropane does not show any effect on the respiration of activated sludge in the conditions of the test up to a concentration of 100 mg/L. EC50_3h and NOEC_3h was determined to be higher than 100 mg/L.

The determination of the inhibition of respiration of activated sludge exposed during an incubation period of 3 hours to the test item 2,2 -Bismethylthiopropane was performed following the method C11 described in Directive 92/69/EEC of the European Commission and in the OECD guideline 209 (Gancet, 2008). The test substance does not show any effect on the respiration of activated sludge in the conditions of the test up to a concentration of 100 mg/L. All the validity criteria were fulfilled.
