Three test mixtures with the test item
and cellulose 2: 1 burned locally in 7 s, 63 s and 32 s, respectively.
Three test mixtures with barium nitrate/cellulose 2: 1 burned down
completely in 45 s, 53 s and 48 s, respectively. Due to the results of
the preliminary test the main test had to be performed.
Four tests were performed for the
reference mixture (barium nitrate and cellulose) with 50, 55, 60 and 70
wt. % oxidizer (barium nitrate).

The highest burning rate of 1.34 mm/s
was found for the mixture with 60 wt. % oxidizer. Mixtures of the test
item with cellulose were prepared in between 10 and 90 wt. % of the test
item and tested.

Due to the much weaker effect than the
reference mixtures the three mixtures with the most vigorous effect were
repeated only twice.

Each mixture was measured 3 times. As
the test item was a waxy solid it was not possible to form a homogeneous
mixture with cellulose. Therefore the deviation of the burning rates to
each other was significantly higher than usual. However as all test item
mixtures were significantly slower than the reference mixtures this had
no influence on the result. The maximum burning rate of the mixtures of
the test item and cellulose (0.66 mm/s) was lower than the maximum
burning rate of the reference mixture of cellulose and barium nitrate
(1.34 mm/s). Due to the fact that the mixture of the test item with
cellulose burned slower compared to the reference mixture it was
concluded that the test item has no oxidizing properties.

The test item is a solid at ambient
conditions. This hazard class is only applicable for gases. Thus, the
substance was not considered for classification as oxidising gas.

In accordance with column 2 Annex VII
section 7.13 Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH), the test on oxidising
properties was waived as the chemical structure of the test item does
not contain any functional groups quoted in 'Manual of Tests and
Criteria' (fifth revised edition, appendix 6, chapter 6) which may
indicate oxidizing properties. The test item was thus considered not
oxidising. No experimental determination was carried out.
Classification, Labelling, and
Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008
Based on the chemical structure and
taking into account the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) No
1272/2008, as amended for the
twelfth time in Regulation (EU) No 2019/521, the substance is not
considered to be classified for oxidising properties.
