PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Persistent: SugaNate 160NC is readily biodegradable according to an OECD 301B study (80 -82% (DOC) after 28 d) and as such does not persist in the environment. Thus it is assessed that SugaNate 100NC will also be readily biodegradable and as such does not meet the screening criterion for persistence and it is not considered to be P or vP.

Bioaccumulative: The measured Log Pow is calculated as < -1.41. The available information indicates that SugaNate 100NC has a very low potential for bioconcentration and will not accumulate to significant levels in aquatic organisms. Therefore SugaNate 100NC is not considered to be bioaccumulative - not B or vB.

Toxic: The toxicity criterion is not met for SugaNate 160NC. Thus it is assessed that SugaNate 100NC will also not meet the criteria for the acute aquatic toxicity. L(E)C50 is >1 mg/L. Not T or vT
