Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Experimental data on the short-term toxicity of (1R,2S)-2,6-dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-amine (CAS 752984-24-0) to aquatic invertebrates are not available. Therefore, the assessment is based on experimental read-across data available for the structurally analogous substance (1R,2S)-2,3-Dihydro-2,6-dimethyl-1H-inden-1-amine hydrochloride (CAS 730980-53-7).

The acute toxicity of the source chemical to daphnids was investigated in a GLP compliant study performed according to EU-method C.2 using D. magna as test organism. The substance was found to be acutely not harmful to aquatic invertebrates (48-h EC50 = 19.63 mg/L; nominal, analytically verified; Bayer CropScience AG, 2006).

Based on the available read-across data, (1R,2S)-2,6-dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-amine (CAS 752984-24-0) is considered to be acutely harmful to aquatic invertebrates.
