PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The substance could be considered persistent based on lack of biodegradation and the Log Kow of 4.9 triggers a potential for bioaccumulation. However, the substance is not hazard to human health and only assigned the criteria for aquatic chronic 4 based on

the substance's poor water solubility, lack of biodegradable, log Kow of 4.9 and the fact that all of the ecotoxicity test results are greater than the limit of solubility (0.1 mg/L). In additional substance was noted to be photolytically unstable in aquatic test environments. Therefore, the aquatic chronic 4 classification was assigned as a safety net.
Likely routes of exposure:

Substance is made and used at one site within the EU and is not released to water, air or the soil directly. Therefore, there are no likely routes of exposure to the environment. Likely routes of exposure for workers is limited to inhalation and dermal contact. Substance is mainly handled as a wet solid so potential for dust exposure is minimal. Dermal contact is a potential route of exposure but uptake is unlikely by the dermal route, a default value of 10% is assigned based upon the physical properties of the substance. .
