In accordance with Step 1 of Annex I of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 and in compliance with Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.3: Information gathering Version 1.1 December 2011, a literature search was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the collected data were evaluated. The SRC PhysProp database, reports the melting point of the test item to be 49.5 °C. The PhysProp database is commonly regarded as reliable source for physical chemical properties. Zakharkin, L. I.; Petrushkina, E. A, as cited in REAXYS database, reports the melting point of the test item to be 49 -50°C. Tanaka, Kazuhiko; Terauchi, Makoto; Kaji, Aritsune (1981) as cited in REAXYS database, reports the melting point of the test item to be 48.5 -49.5 °C.

In conclusion, three literature sources were identified and regarded as reliable for this weight of evidence approach. All available data have a comparable reliability. Thus, it was concluded to use a melting point of 49.5 °C as key value.
