During investigations of the pH of the skin surface and function of perspiration, there were early functional and biochemical alterations of the skin. Clinically the following occupational diseases of the skin were found: epidermitis (in 151 cases), dermatitis (in 21), eczema (in 8), urticaria (in 3), and skin itching (in 4). During investigation of the skin sensitivity to the test substance and other industrial allergens with the aid of drip skin tests 25.3% of persons had an increased sensitivity to the chemical.
