Details on results:
After 28 days the sample attained oxygen depletion equivalent to 61 % biodegradation relative to theoretical oxygen demand. After nitrate and nitrite analysis this was adjusted to 67 % carbonaceous biodegradation. There was no evidence of inhibitory effects to sewage bacteria, under the conditions of the test.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Interpretation of results:
readily biodegradable, but failing 10-day window
Conclusions:
The results of this test indicate that HEMA-PC is readily biodegradable, but fails the 10-day window.
Executive summary:

This study was conducted to determine the ready biodegradability of HEMA-PC using EU Method C.4 -E (Closed Bottle Test).

The results of this test indicate that HEMA-PC is readily biodegradable, but fails the 10-day window.
