DSC

The test item Stearyl Erucamide, CAS-No. 10094-45-8 shows a boiling and/or thermal decomposition earliest at ca. 434 °C (at 1007 mbar) according to the definition in the OECD guideline 103 (mean value from repeat determination; 1st heating run).

The start of the area of boiling is defined by using the on-set temperature. The earliest onset of boiling/and or decomposition was observed at the following temperatures:

First measurement: 435 °C

Second measurement: 434 °C

Third measurement: 434 °C

From 434 °C the test item shows a boiling and/or thermal decomposition with evaporation on the decomposition products.

TGA

The DSC measurements were confirmed by means of TGA measurements under the same measuring conditions.

Description of key information

ca. 434°C at 1007 mbar

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

From 434°C the test item shows a boiling and/or thermal decomposition with evaporation on the decomposition products. The result was determined using DSC in conjunction with TGA.
