been found for fish (Cyprinus carpio) exposed to 1,2 -dichlorobenzene for 56 days (MITI, 1992). The test was conducted according to a national guideline which corresponds to OECD Guideline 305C (1981).

Additional information

Bioconcentration factors for the whole organism ranging from 90 to 260 have been found for fish (Cyprinus carpio) exposed to 1,2 -dichlorobenzene for 56 days (MITI, 1992). The test was conducted according to a national guideline which corresponds to OECD Guideline 305C (1981).

Further studies have been published revealing BCF values in terms of whole organisms for freshwater and saltwater fish and invertebrates in the same order of magnitude. In terms of lipid content, BCF values were between 6166 (spottet sea trout) to 28840 (Blue crab). For cyanobacteria and algae, BCF values of 6212 and 29700 were reported.

However, the maximum BCF value for whole fish of 260 has been selected as the key value for bioaccumulation in the aquatic environment.
