Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Data on the long-term toxicity of 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, di-C16-18-alkyl esters (CAS 90193-76-3) to aquatic invertebrates are not available. Therefore, data on the chronic toxicity of the structurally related analogue substance Di(tridecyl) phthalate (CAS 119-06-2) is used as read-across in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XI, 1.5.. The long-term toxicity was tested in accordance to OECD guideline 211 in a limit test. The tested substance concentration was 10 mg/L (nominal). Daphnia magna was exposed to the substance in semi-static system for 21 days. No effect of the test substance on parent survival or reproduction rate was observed. Based on the reproduction the determined NOEC was >= 10 mg/L (EC50 > 10 mg/L).

Thus, based on the above mentioned result, and due to the structural and profile similarities of the substances, as are explained with in the overall endpoint summary 6.1 it can be concluded that no toxicological long effects on aquatic invertebrates are expected up to the limit of water solubility for 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, di-C16-18-alkyl ester.
