First-aid measures

- General advice: In the case of an accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately

- Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, oxygen should be administered by qualified personnel. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists.

- Skin contact: Wash with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists.

- Eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Seek immediate medical attention from an ophthalmologist or physician if pain or irritation persists.

- Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Immediately rinse mouth and drink water in small sips. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists. If a large amount is swallowed, seek medical attention.

- Protection of first-aiders: Provide first aid to the victim only when it is safe to do so. Avoid personal risk of contamination.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media:

Use extinguishing media appropriate to the surroundings.

- Unsuitable extinguishing media:

None known.

- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:

During fire, gases hazardous to health may be formed.

- Advice for fire fighter: Self-contained breathing apparatus, operated in positive pressure mode and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire.

Move containers from fire area if you can do it without risk. Use water spray to cool unopened containers. Cool containers with flooding quantities of water until well after fire is out.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions:

Wear suitable protective equipment to prevent any contamination of skin, eyes and personal clothing.

Remove any sources of ignition, provide sufficient ventilation and limit dust formation.

- Environmental precautions:

Prevent run-off from entering ground, storm sewers and ditches which lead to natural waterways.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Collect spilled material in an appropriate container for disposal. Avoid generating dust. Clean residue with a high efficiency particulate filter vacuum.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling:

Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid raising and breathing dust. Observe good industrial hygiene practice for chemical handling. Handling systems and areas should be operated in such a way as to minimise exposure to dust. Local exhaust ventilation may be necessary. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Manual handling guidelines should be adhered to when handling sacks.

- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store in a tightly closed container. Store in a dry place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

> Personal protection equipment:

- Eyes: Use safety glasses (with side shields), or goggles. Safety glasses (with side shields) should be consistent with EN 166 or equivalent. Eye wash station to be readily accessible.

- Clothing: Wear appropriate industrial clothing

- Hands: Wear appropriate chemical resistant gloves in line with EN 420 and EN 374.

The selection of a specific glove for a particular application and duration of use in a workplace should also take into account all relevant workplace factors such as, but not limited to: Other chemicals which may be handled, physical requirements (cut/puncture protection, dexterity, thermal protection), potential body reactions to glove materials, as well as the instructions/specifications provided by the glove supplier.

The chemical resistance of the personal protection gloves should be clarified and confirmed by the supplier.

Individuals having sensitive skin may find it beneficial to use a barrier cream or moisturizer when excessive or prolonged contact with the skin is likely.

- Respiratory protection: A respirator must be used if the dust concentration is likely to exceed the occupational exposure limit, filter type P (respirator in line with EN 149:2001 as a minimum)

> Environmental exposure controls: Dispose of contents and container in line with national and local regulations. Avoid contamination of sewerage system. Contact local environment agency if large volumes enter waterways.

Disposal considerations

- Waste treatment methods: Do not release product into water ways, sewers or landfill. Dispose of in accordance with local and national regulations.

- Product/ Packaging disposal: Do not re-use empty containers. Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or disposal

- Waste treatment-relevant information: Dispose of contents/container according to local national regulations.
