Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

First aid Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air. Place the victim in semi-seated position. Allow the victim to rest.  If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Seek medical attention immediately.

Skin contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash skin thoroughly with mild soap and water.

Obtain medical attention if ill effect or irritation develops.

Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, for at least 15 minutes.  Obtain medical attention if pain, blinking, tears or redness persist.

Ingestion: DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Rinse mouth.  If swallowed, give 1  pint of water if victim completely conscious/alert. Seek medical attention if ill effect develop

Note to physician:Symptomatic treatment.  No specific antidote known.

Fire-fighting measures

Flammable class Flammable dust.  Ignition of a dust cloud produces a strong explosion.  Dust clouds are potentially very high sensitive to ignition from incentive

electrostatic discharge. Dust clouds are of very low sensitivity to ignition from hot surfaces.  High pressure is produced during a dust explosion: 8-10 bar

Extinguishing Media

Suitable: Water,Dry chemical.  Foam.

Not to be used: Carbon dioxide.

Surrounding fires: Use water spray or fog for cooling exposed containers.  Apply water spray or fog to cool nearby equipment.

Special exposure hazards: On exposure to high temperature, may decompose, releasing toxic gases. (CO, C02, SOx,  NOx,  F-, Cl-)

Protection against fire: Eliminate every possible source of ignition.  Ignition of a flammable product - air mixture by static discharge is possible

Special procedures: Use self-contained breathing apparatus  and standard firefighting gear

Accidental release measures

Technical measures: Eliminate every possible source of ignition.  Use special care to avoid static electric charges.

Personal precautions:   Avoid dust production. Evacuate and limit access.  No smoking.  Equip cleanup crew with proper protection. Exposure controls/personal protection.

Environmental precautions after spillage and/or leakage: Prevent entry to sewers and public waters. Sweep or shovel spills into appropriate container for disposal.

Handling and storage

General:  Eliminate every possible source of ignition.  No naked lights. No smoking.  Use good housekeeping  practices to avoid rendering dust airborne.Potential

dust explosion hazard.

Prevention Storage: Keep container closed when not in use. Provide local exhaust or general room ventilation.  Keep only in the original container  in a cool

well ventilated place. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. May be stored at ambient temperature.  Protect from high temperature. Protect

from low temperatures.

Storage Away From: Heat. Sparks. Open flame. Moisture.

Suitable Packaging: The product is stored in  UN certified packaging: a double PE liner, packed in a fibredrum (1 G/X . ./S).  Use antistatic packing to store the product,

to prevent  Handling: electrostatic discharge when emptying the packing. Avoid all unnecessary exposure. Do not breathe dust. Handle the product in closed

equipment and if possible under an inert atmosphere. Sufficient local or general ventilation. Explosion proof electrical equipment.  Earth the equipment

and take enough time to remove the electrostatic charges. Do not use compressed air to handle the product. Handle in accordance with good industrial

hygiene and safetyprocedures. Wash hands and other exposed areas with mild soap and water before eating, drinking, smoking and when leaving work.

Ensure prompt removal from eyes. Wear suitable protective clothing.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection:  Wear full face dust mask (ctr.  EN 136) with P3-dust canister for protection against dust.

Hand protection: Wear suitable synthetic gloves (Category 3, Class 3) resistant to chemical penetration.

Skin protection: Wear a coverall type 5, specific for manipulation of solids.

Eye protection: See respiratory protection.

Ingestion: When using, do not eat, drink or smoke.

Others:  Wear suitable safety shoes.

Industrial hygiene: Open handling not recommended.  Use an adapted installation for handling substances not yet fully tested in a closed system,

so that the OEL of the product can be established. Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity

of any potential exposure.

Occupational Exposure Limits:Class 3 (OEL: >10 - 100 µg/m3)

Stability and reactivity

In case of fire, generation of: Carbon dioxide.  Carbon monoxide. Sulfur oxide. Nitrogen oxides.  F-coumpounds. Cl-compounds.

Hazardous Polymerization: Will not occur

Hazardous properties: Fire/explosion hazard

Conditions to avoid Explosive properties: Direct sunlight.  High temperature. Avoid dispersion as a dust cloud.

Stability: The product is stable if stored under the recommended storage conditions.

Disposal considerations

Disposal: Dispose in a safe manner in accordance with local/national regulations. Avoid release to the environment
